Domaine La Brossette is a certified organic estate located in Touraine and owned...
by the Delaunay family. There are three hectares of organic vineyards, planted with Gamay and Cabernet Franc, for producing a pale rosé and a red.
Domaine de La Brossette is situated on the bank of the Cher Valley, 50 kilometres east of Tours near the famous Château de Chenonceau. The soil is clay and silex (a mixture of flint and sand) and the pruning method is simple Guyot. It is a small, three hectare estate which is Certified Organic.
The Loire Valley was plagued by spring frosts and a wet summer causing a severe reduction in yields and making the vineyard owners work hard to manage their canopies and deter fungal growth.
Gentle pneumatic pressing extracts just the right amount of rosé colour. Fermentation takes place over a period of 20 days at a controlled temperature of 16°C in stainless steel tanks to retain fresh fruit aromas. There is a a short period of lees ageing to add depth and weight prior to bottling.
A bright and attractive pink colour in the glass. An endearing nose, with aromas of raspberry and redcurrant. The palate is round and fleshy, with a savoury freshness, plenty of fruit concentration and a minerally finish. A very precise and racy rosé.
