Domaine de La Brossette is situated on the bank of the Cher Valley, 50 kilometres east of Tours near the famous Château de Chenonceau. The soil is clay and silex (a mixture of flint and sand) and the pruning method is simple Guyot. It is a small, three hectare estate which is Certified Organic.
The 2015 vintage was very promising across the Loire region, with the same warm, dry summer that many other French regions enjoyed. The fine conditions resulted in good yields of healthy, concentrated grapes.
Semi-carbonic maceration took place with individual grapes over a period of eight days. Alcoholic fermentation then took place between 25-28°C. The grapes were pressed with a pneumatic press and malolactic fermentation occurred at 22°C before blending and ageing on fine lees.
Bright ruby-red in colour. The nose opens with fragrances of fresh red fruits, accompanied by chalky mineral fragrances. The palate is beautifully balanced, with silky tannins, a supple texture and bright, precise fruit.
